Highest FSA level once again for Dutch beet cultivation

Following a comprehensive audit among beet growers, the Cosun Beet Company has once again achieved the highest status of sustainable beet cultivation: FSA Gold. This is the system used by the SAI (Sustainable Agricultural Initiative) Platform to assess the sustainability level of farms. The platform supports all kinds of different sustainable farming initiatives worldwide. The growers affiliated with the platform have now achieved the highest level – thanks in part to Unitip.

An important aspect of this assessment is the Unitip registration and advice programme. This aligns perfectly with the Cosun Beet Company’s sustainability goals. Customers also value sustainability efforts. Some growers even set their own requirements for the minimum sustainability level for supplying sugar. Maintaining the SAI Gold level also clearly contributes to good customer relationships. Suppliers with a strong focus on sustainability are often preferred. With this SAI Gold achievement, the Cosun Beet Company has further solidified its position among the top tier companies in the beet sugar-producing sector.

Unitip registration and advice programme
In Unitip, growers register information related to their beet parcels, such as sowing, tillage, fertilisation, crop protection and yield. Unitip is part of our Beet Advice System, which combines and analyses all crop details from numerous information sources. The grower is then provided with custom sustainability and other advice.

Not only do the beet growers achieve an environmental benefit, but also higher yields per hectare. As a result, Unitip contributes to the Cosun Beet Company’s goal to become the world’s greenest sugar beet processor.
