Dutch beet campaign has started
Tody, on Monday 13 September, the beet campaign in the Dutch factories has started, while it began a week earlier, on Tuesday 7 September, at our German factory (Anklam). According to the current crop forecast, the campaign will last for over 17 weeks.
Cosun Beet Company expects this campaign to result in a beet yield of 81 tonnes of beets per hectare, which will translate into a sugar yield of 13.6 tonnes per hectare. This yield is lower than the average over the past five years, which has been 13.8 tonnes of sugar per hectare. But conditions in the coming months can still impact this forecast.
Coronavirus measures
As can be expected, various coronavirus measures will be implemented during this beet campaign. These include the number of actions being reduced in the factory at the weighbridge and during both sampling and beet loading. In addition, all drivers have received security keys, so that they can safely operate the buttons when necessary.
